About Me

Welcome to my about me page!  I have a a little blurb about me on the sidebar, but I thought it would be nice to have a page where I tell you some more stuff about me, stuff I like, stuff I don't like, etc.

That's me and a huge spoonful of raw cookie dough.  Yep, I know it's bad for me.  Yep, I know I could contract a horrible disease.  Yep, my mom always told me not to eat it.  But hey, I guess I'm a risk taker.  I'm pretty sure my immune system has been built up so much over the years that raw cookie dough poses no risk to me any longer.  *knock on wood*

I live with my boyfriend, Ron, and our pets.  One dog (Doodle McWiggles), two cats (Voltron and Diana), and a snake.  I have no pictures of the snake at this time, he's shy.

I love vegetables- artichokes, brussel sprouts, asparagas, peppers, tomatoes, corn on the cob, eggplant, cauliflower, avocado.... I love them all.  The only that ones I'm not too keen on are lima beans (maybe I just haven't had them in an awesome recipe- I'll give them another chance), and also canned peas and corn.  I like veggies more than fruit- I like fruit fine and all, but I crave veggies.  If I lived alone, that would be all I would eat for days at a time.

I love spicy food- seriously spicy food.  I add some kind of spice to most of my meals, because I like it that way.  I have a seriously spicy chicken and hot cherry pepper recipe that I'll share with you sometime- it uses a whole jar of cherry peppers, and some of the brine, and recently my boyfriend asked me to tone it down a notch because it does wreak havoc on your stomach the next day, but it is oh so delicious.

I love ethnic food- I lean toward Mexican, Indian, and Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc.) types of food, but I love to explore different types of cuisine, and I'm always interested in learning about different cultures and food traditions.

I have no real dislikes- other than liver and other internal organs- but to be honest I've never tried things like kidneys or hearts and stuff.  Maybe I'll be brave someday and try these.  I used to dislike sausage, but that aversion has passed, and now I love it.  (Except I am still scared of blood sausage).
